The Hunt for Red October...

Actually, I'm hunting for an apartment but it will probably be red october before I find one here that meets the following requirements.

1. I like it.
2. I can afford it.

Seriously... add to that it needs to be in pretty close proximity to my work, and it needs to have a w/d hookup, and it needs to be a 2 bedroom, and it needs to not be in the hood...

I looked at FOUR places today... 2 of them I liked. One is too far away... and the other isn't available until Sept. 1... so we'll see. I'm looking at another place tomorrow and I've called about 5 or 6 more.

I got some 96.5 TIC tee-shirts today! Super excited... and I have 2 appearances lined up already!!

Everyone here has been SUPER COOL and they seem to like what I'm doing on the air so that's good... I'm just having fun.

Tonight I'm talking about the new Abercrombie tee-shirts (see the dirt blog)... Paris's engagement ring issues, and Tara Reid being a very smart business woman... or not! And more stuff as it comes to me I guess...

I am so hungry. I have 0 money left. I had to get a new tire and that put me back... and I've just been eating out and driving a LOT over the last few weeks so what I had saved is gone... I just deposited a check today and I get paid in 2 days but it's rough right now until the check clears. It's funny I was just chatting with a friend of mine who works in TV - and he's pretty successful now - but he was like... I know what you mean, I put $2 of gas in my car at a time and lives on cheap pasta for weeks!! So that's how it goes... it's worth it though - I am just happy to be on the air and having fun at my job. All other things will fall into place...

Just in the time I was writing this... I think I might have found a good place to live... my boss here knows people who have a nice 2 family house... we'll see!!

The production guy made these cool drop things for my show... so it's all personalized. I love hearing a voice guy say my name all deep and sexy and sh*t... never had that before lol... radio people will understand.

Anyway, I gotta go... It's been a long day and my teeth are killing me too... I have insurance now just got to find a dentist and get an appointment to get these suckers pulled... anyone got any pliers?

:)

Buzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz....

OK we are experiencing Tampa-like thunderstorms here in Hartford this afternoon... alarms going off like crazy... stations off the air... engineers running around... It's insane. I am just SO HAPPY I am not on the air yet and by the time I am on at 7 the storms will have passed...

So here's what I'm doing tonight, besides talking smack about famous people...

This guy called me last night while I was on the air and asked me if I was single, blah blah blah... so I humored him and went with all his questions... then I asked how old he is - he's 38... balding with a goatee... so I told him I didn't mind the balding part but the facial hair would have to go...

Then I said something about how it's OK because any time you meat - I mean MEET... whoops, Freudian slip there or WHAT??? - anyway... any time a woman meets a man, HE IS GOING TO NEED WORK. Like, you don't meet a guy and he's just the way you want him right off the bat. They all need to be fixed in some way. For example, I dated this one guy a while back who was really hot, cool guy, wore good shirts, good shoes, cool spikey hair, but he could NOT pick out a pair of hot jeans to SAVE HIS LIFE. He wore Levi's light blue regular jeans. No cargo jeans, nothing fashionable AT ALL.

So tonight I'm going to ask the ladies what they had to "fix" when they met their man... how they did it... if they were successful... like remember on Sex & The City when Charlotte met that hot guy but he SCRATCHED HIS BALLS all the time? Stuff like that. I don't think I can say "scratched his balls" on the radio... but you get my drift.

What about you? Did you have to FIX anything about your man? I feel like I've had a few "projects" in my life but I won't get into those here...

*****

Ahhhh... so onto another subject entirely. Actually, no. I can't write about it here. I'm on the fence about something... but I just won't even go there.

First day of work!

So exciting!! Today's my first day of work!! I'm here getting settled... learning the "clock", getting my key card... this place is secure like Fort Knox... and just hanging out...

I'm totally excited but a little nervous of course... It's been a LONG time since I've been on the radio every night and I just hope people here like me... and hate me... the way they did in Tampa!

So my wisdom teeth are KILLING ME again - I have to get them out... I mean the pain is just RIDICULOUS - anyone got any vicadin? I have no idea how to spell vikadin but you get the point... OW. I've been using anbesol and taking over the counter stuff in large doses, but it still doesn't make it go away. JUST WHAT I NEED!

Then... I discover that my tire is COMPLETELY flat yesterday... beyond just putting some air in... so I had to drop $100 on a new tire before I left to drive down here. At least I had the money and got it taken care of...

I'm staying at this really nice quiet inn here in CT... I have to start looking for an apartment and get all that stuff done. Moving - FUN TIMES!

I had a few glasses of wine last night in my room and just talked on the phone with some friends until my cell died LOL... yeah, I can't find my plug into the wall charger... I have no idea what bag I put it in and I'm not about to go through all of them right now so I just talk on it until it dies, then charge it in the car...

Anyway, that's about all for now. I need to do some stuff here, figure out how to update the website (of course), and figure out what on earth I am going to talk about on the air tonight... as if I'll be at a loss for words ;)

I need a laptop SO bad but it's the last thing I can afford right now.

Peace out!
