GO LOOK GO LOOK!!!

MY SITE IS BACK!!!!!!!!!!

www.danasdirt.com

Well, almost. At least I figured out how to get in and Wendy can start working her magic again and it'll be back to what it used to be - and then better - soon!!!

Although it's been a pain in the ASS it's definitely been a learning experience too and I am always happy to learn new things. Now we'll have to see how long it takes to build the hit count back up since a lot of people probably thought I fell of the face of the earth.

Kyla has diaper rash realllllly bad. I don't know what is causing it. She's NEVER had diaper rash!! I think it could be a number of things... the cold, drier air here... she's eating a lot more solid food so there's more acid and icky yuckies in her icky yucky... and I don't think the diaper rash cream we had is working very well so I am going to pick some more up tomorrow. She seems to be crying most when I put it on, so maybe it's stinging her. Poor little baby bum!!

Right now she is sleeping like a little angel hugging her glow worm. I just went in to check on her and she is laying down perfectly snuggled with her wormie. I just adore her.

I am praying to the good Lord that I get a new job soon. I don't mind being around my family and friends, but I really need to get my life back in order. Stressful as moving is, it will be fun to go to a new place and meet new people and start over. We'll see what happens. I can't say anything about anything right now.

That's all I got for now. Pretty boring now that I leave the drama out LOL.

I LOVE MAC & CHEESE!

I never used to eat Mac & Cheese. I am 27 years old and just discovered the flavorful deliciousness of Kraft Macaroni & Cheese.

Last night I drove into Boston to meet a friend I used to work with at the station I used to work at... She helped me put together a demo. It was great to see her and catch up and talk about radio and stuff.

It was snowing on the drive back. A lot. My dad's car is awesome and handled really well so I wasn't nervous. I actually talked to my best friend on the phone the whole drive home. Everything with all of this happened so fast she didn't even know I was back here until I called her last night. We're going to hang out soon.

The Superbowl... GO PATRIOTS!!! It's so nice to finally have winning sports teams here in Boston. IT'S ABOUT TIME!!! Kyla was in my womb last year while I was here for the Superbowl... so hopefully she'll bring the Pats good luck again.

I don't have much else... I have been doing my resume and cover letter all day. Kyla needs some play time!!

www.danasdirt.com IS COMING BACK!

WHAT A FRIGGING NIGHTMARE...

But it's all working out. Apparently if a site has been transferred within 60 days you can not transfer it again until the 60 days are up... so I don't really know what this gibroni did to it but his company declined my request to transfer it... so I called and spoke to a support person at godaddy.com and they helped me get it all back in order. Right now the site is registered through his company because whatever internet regulations won't let me transfer it, but they assured me I am the only one who has access to do anything to the site. Since he owns the hosting company he COULD potentially take my info, but the guy there said to email him immediately if anyone messes with it and they'll handle it. It's not cool.

The site should actually be back up in a day or two. I had NO IDEA this was such a painful process!! I have NO IDEA what all of this stuff means but I am learning so that's a good thing.

Tonight I'm going to see a radio friend and use the studio to put together my demo. It will be great to see her... and hopefully I'll get a new job!!

Thanks for all the emails... and check tomorrow for the return of danasdirt.com LOL!

D

I LOVE THE RMV!

Yes isn't it great having to deal with the Registry of Motor Vehicles???

I am getting a car so I have to take care of some old parking tickets and whatnot. FUN TIMES. Actually, the woman I just spoke with was quite friendly and helpful. Most of the time you get some rude overworked, underpaid, disgruntled person on the phone but she was rather pleasant.

Now I have to find out what the damage is... I have 5 tickets, which is actually less than I thought I had LOL. They don't know about all the FL ones so I'm not going to tell them. I asked her to do a nationwide search and see if I had anything else in another state and she said NO. I was like Ok hehehe...

Kyla is playing on the floor. We were up EARLY again today... I went to bed early though so I'm not AS tired. I miss getting sleep though!! I think Kyla misses her crib and her room and all of her toys. She's pretty bored with the few she has here. She's more interested in opening the drawers in this bedroom, climbing the shelves, opening the kitchen cabinets, etc. than she is in her toys.

I am seeing another friend next week. He's in Jacksonville for the Superbowl but once he gets back we have plans... not sure what day yet. He went through a divorce so I'm sure he'll have some advice for me regarding my situation. They didn't have kids, but he still had to move in with his parents and get his life back on track.

I have some other stuff I have to look into today do I gotta run...

DID ANYONE ELSE SEE THIS....

R&B singer Houston gouges eye out after attempting suicide

And think WHITNEY HOUSTON gouged her eye out???? That's what I thought when I first saw the headline. I thought WHITNEY tried to do it on a bad crack is wack trip or something... then I read it's the dude Houston and I was like oh whatever... I guess it's a little weird because you don't think of people like Houston trying to off themselves but whatever.

Seriously though, when I read that headline I got this picture in my head of a crazed Whitney taking an ice pick to her face. Not good.

****

The STATE OF THE UNION address is on. I'll sum it up in 2 words.

We're F**ked.

That would be my State of the Union if I had to get it. In every sense of the words, we're f**ked. Social Security, medicare, the war, the economy, jobs, crime, everything. Unless you're super rich and friends with the Bush family. Then you're on Cloud 9.

I guess he is cracking jokes about his gray hair. What a freaking tool.

****

I am now interested in THREE jobs! I am getting my tape done tomorrow night as long as it does not snow like crazy... then I just have to send it out and hope for the best. I never thought I would get ANY job in radio, let alone the great ones I've gotten, so I hope something good comes of this!

Kyla is fussing. She fell asleep a while ago and was fine... but now she's awake and just kind of doing that I'm tired but I'm not going to go to sleep yet fuss... It is hard not to go pick her up but we had a very busy day of playing and I am TIRED.

That's about all I got for you right now... The website might take a few more days to get up. The transfer process can take 5-7 days!!! Yes, pain in the arse, I know. But I know it's working, I got the confirmation email earlier.

Oh, contacts are a pain in the ass!!! I could not get them in earlier. It stings when I try to put them in. Just for a minute, then it goes away. Something about poking myself in the eye. I guess I just have to get used to them.

D

It's MORNING TIME MOMMY!

Kyla was awake at 6am and crawling ALL OVER ME. I was up until after 1am trying to figure my website out... and then she's up at 6 LOL!

So I put her in the pack & play and went back to sleep. I hate doing that to her but I was just not ready to get up!

Here's the deal. I have attempted to transfer my site to a new host but it takes about 24-48 hours for the site to unlock and transfer, so hopefully it will be working tonight or tomorrow. I have NO IDEA what I'm doing but I've called customer support and they assured me it should be working soon.

I am so used to the instant gratification of the internent that when something doesn't click and work immediately I feel like it's not working!

Tonight I am supposed to go see a friend I have not seen in YEARS! She has a little girl who is 16 months old so Kyla is going to meet her.

That's all I got now... nothing juicy LOL.

HELP!!!!!!

OMG I want to get my website back up but I can't figure out what service to go with and what I need.

PLEASE, if you know how to do this email me - radiomommy330@yahoo.com.

If you know what I need for basic webhosting, email, and traffic facts let me know. I need to transfer my domain so I can get it back up again. I have it all figured out I just don't know what to do!!

Dana

Friends.

My friends rule. That's all I have to say.

Today I worked on my resume and cover letter to go after some jobs. I don't mind writing cover letters because... well... let's face it, it's your chance to just brag about yourself LOL... but I hate doing a resume because I never know what to put. Like what do they care about and what don't they care about? Radio resumes are different too because they don't give a rat's ass about your education, or if you even have one LOL... it comes down to the tape and references. Well, I don't have a tape done yet but I will thanks to a good friend here. I have all the pieces, I just need to "produce" it. We have plans for Thursday night but it's supposed to SNOW which is JUST MY LUCK... we'll see what happens.

Not much else is up. Kyla is good. We played all day - as usual - and she just went right to sleep. We were watching Toy Story in the rocking chair in the living room and she was just sucking her fingers and her thumb... and I was starting to doze off... so I brought her up, changed her, put her down to bed, and she fussed for all of a minute and now she's asleep. She has been falling asleep fine but she's been waking up around midnight crying hysterically so I pick her up and bring her in with me. She's adjusting to her new surroundings so I think when she wakes up and she's not in her room it scares her.

I am trying to figure out how to get my site back up. I just don't have any room on my credit cards right now to do it. I'm really mad about it, but there's not much I can do.

D

I Love Hot Chocolate.

I couldn't think of a subject so I just put that. It's true, I love hot chocolate. I had 2 cups of it yesterday. I probably shouldn't but when it's cold outside and there is snow on the ground I just love hot chocolate. I don't drink much coffee anymore because the caffiene gets in my milk and makes Kyla wired - and she shouldn't have it anyway... So lately I've been drinking hot chocolate like crazy. Yum yum yum.

Kyla slept on her own for a while last night. We moved her pack & play to a different room so I could use the computer in this room. She woke up around 1am and I took her to bed with me. I like snuggling with her and keeping her little hands and feet warm. Now she is in a room with a TV which does keep her occupied for a little while so I can get some things done. I have to make a resume - UGH. I HATE making resumes!!

She is loving it here... she has tons of room to crawl around. Last night she was going all over the kitchen and sitting under the table. It's so cute. I can't believe her 1st birthday is in less than 2 months!! Not sure if we will still be here since I hope to find a job sooner rather than later... but if we are it will be nice to have a family birthday party for her!

While she's content I am going to get working on stuff. My site WILL be back soon!!!

Strategic Career Moves...

I was just chatting with a friend and you know, if I don't get another job in radio I could always talk into the microphone at Burger King's drive through... I would make it fun. Can you imagine?

Are you SURE you want to supersize that fatass?

You know that chocolate shake is gonna go right to your thighs honey...

An apple pie? You're gonna eat a double whopper with cheese supersize fries a large diet coke AND YOU NEED DESSERT?

Anyway, that's my random thought for the night. I haven't felt much like blogging. You'd be surprised what's going on.

I did talk to a really good friend tonight and we're going to see each other for the first time in 3 years this week! I am so excited!!

Update on danasdirt.com - waiting for a friend to get back from vaca and then I'm sure she'll help me get it back up!

D

COLD. BITTER COLD.

LOL it's FREEZING HERE!! I am already thinking I should find a job in the south because I don't know if I can live with these winters. Yeah it got cold in Columbia but THIS is insane!

I have been doing a lot of thinking about my life and everything that has happened over the last several months and while the obvious things have been wrong with my living situation, I think my biggest problem is not having a job... and the feeling that my career is over.

I've been talking to some friends lately and I feel much better about things. Yeah, people might now what happened in Tampa... but I will never know how badly it will damage me unless I put myself out there and try. So a friend of mine here is helping put together a new demo at the station she works at, and I'm going to give it a shot. There is a job I really want but it's been open for a few weeks now and I'm sure it'll be filled quickly. I can't get into any detail but I think it would be a GREAT opportunity for me. Warm climate. Nice city (from what I've heard). Successful station/show... so we'll see.

Kyla is adjusting fine. She actually slept in the pack & play here for a while last night which surprised me. She did wake up around midnight and I ended up bringing her to bed with me, but she will adjust. She was just getting used to our bedtime routine and now I'm switching it on her.

I need to find a host for my site and figure out how to get it working again... I am so computer dumb but I am learning LOL.
